FLSA rules require adding non-discretionary bonuses into total weekly pay before calculating the “regular rate.” Formula: Regular Rate = (Base Wages + Bonus) ÷ Total Hours Worked. Salaried employees qualify for overtime unless they satisfy both the DOL salary-level threshold test and the administrative/executive/professional duties test.
