When to use a time card vs. a timesheet

A timesheet records one work session per day (in, out). A time card records every punch — so multiple sessions per day work cleanly. Use this when:

Working a split shift (e.g., 6 AM–10 AM, then 4 PM–8 PM)
Returning from a long unpaid break and clocking back in
Working multiple short sessions across the day (retail, food service)
Tracking actual punches from a physical time clock
