Add multiple time durations together. Enter hours and minutes (or hours, minutes, and seconds) for each task, and get the total instantly — in both HH:MM:SS format and decimal hours.
Enter hours and minutes for each time entry you want to add. The calculator updates instantly. To track seconds as well, toggle "Include seconds" at the top of the calculator.
The math is straightforward but easy to get wrong manually. When seconds exceed 60, carry to minutes. When minutes exceed 60, carry to hours.
1:30:25 + 2:45:55
Add seconds: 25 + 55 = 80. Since 80 ≥ 60, carry: 80 − 60 = 20 seconds, add 1 to minutes.
Add minutes: 30 + 45 + 1 = 76. Since 76 ≥ 60, carry: 76 − 60 = 16 minutes, add 1 to hours.
Add hours: 1 + 2 + 1 = 4.
Total: 4:16:20
These two tools solve different problems:
| Tool | Input | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Time Adder | Raw durations (HH:MM) | Task tracking, recipe times, training intervals |
| Hours Calculator | Start and end times (e.g., 9 AM to 5 PM) | Work hours, timesheets, payroll |
| Time Card | Multiple punch in/out pairs per day | Split shifts, retail, multiple sessions |
| Time Between Dates | Two calendar dates | Project deadlines, billing periods |
If your input is in decimal hours (like a timer output: 1.75), convert before entering: multiply the decimal part by 60. So 1.75 hours = 1 hour 45 minutes. For the reverse, our Hours Calculator has a built-in Decimal tab.
| Decimal | HH:MM | Decimal | HH:MM |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0.25 | 0:15 | 1.50 | 1:30 |
| 0.33 | 0:20 | 1.75 | 1:45 |
| 0.50 | 0:30 | 2.00 | 2:00 |
| 0.75 | 0:45 | 2.50 | 2:30 |
| 1.00 | 1:00 | 3.25 | 3:15 |
| 1.25 | 1:15 | 8.75 | 8:45 |
1:30 + 2:45 + 0:15 = 4:30, or 4.50 decimal hours.1.75 hours = 1 hour and 0.75 × 60 = 45 minutes = 1:45. For full bidirectional conversion, use the Decimal tab on the Hours Calculator.
